D.A.R.E. on Hawaii Island
The DARE Program on the Big Island of Hawaii is instructed by the Hawaii Police Department’s Community Policing Section. Both School Resource Police Officers and Community Police Officers are trained to teach the curriculum to 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders throughout various schools in Hawaii County.
The DARE Program on the Big Island Culminates with DARE Days held in West Hawaii and in East Hawaii. Schools that are unable to attend these celebrations have their own culmination ceremony in they respective communities.
